HERO Theatre
HERO Theatre is a community-based company that uses art to model and bring about social and environmental justice. HERO invites audiences to envision and experience America as we do. We examine classical and contemporary works, ensuring that equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) remain at the forefront.
In our theatrical programming, we have an environmental justice initiative called Nuestro Planeta. We commission and produce ecological plays rooted in research around environmental justice issues happening in Latine countries and the U.S., and how American families are directly affected. We aim to educate and uplift our communities, so they can become stewards of the earth.
We produce work that has a lasting impact on audiences and reflects our nation today. Known for redefining the theatre canon by commissioning new plays by underrepresented artists and BIMPOC women, HERO strives to build a better society by championing voices that need to be heard. Now.
