HERO Theatre
HERO Theatre is a community-based company that uses art to model social progress and bring forth sustainability education. We invite audiences to envision America as we do by presenting theatre that uplifts communities in need.
In our theatrical programming, we have a multimedia new works initiative called Nuestro Planeta. We commission and produce plays rooted in research around ecological concerns in Latine countries and the U.S., and how Latine American families are directly affected. We use our artistry to bring sustainability education to vulnerable communities globally.
HERO Theatre's first new play-commissioning project, Our America, continues to allow playwrights to explore real stories of cities in America undergoing socio-economic change. Our last play commissioned under this initiative was Nothing, Nothing - an adaptation with music of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing set in a historic Black church in Los Angeles.
HERO strives to build a better society by championing voices that need to be heard. Now.
