The Dude abides in the Coen Brothers’ quintessential Los Angeles stoner noir. Mistaken identity and a urine-covered rug drags aging hippie slacker The Dude (Jeff Bridges) into a surreal and menacing world of shady philanthropists, German nihilists, porn producers, bowling competitions, and a kidnapping plot that never was. Paying homage to Hollywood legends like Busby Berkeley and Robert Altman, the Coens bring us their best in a nod to the Los Angeles they love and a comedy nobody can deny.
