Seffarine
Check out this event!
🇺🇸 Seffarine takes its name from the ancient metalworking square in Fez, Morocco, famous for the rhythmic sound of blacksmiths’ hammers and where Lamiae Naki’s family has long been known as master craftsmen.
Blending Arabic, Andalusian, West African, flamenco, and Persian influences, Seffarine creates vibrant original music rooted in centuries of cultural exchange. Led by Lamiae Naki and guitarist Nat Hulskamp, the international ensemble combines oud, flamenco guitar, kamancheh, powerful rhythms, and captivating vocals sung in Moroccan Arabic.
Their music has taken them around the world, from Europe and Indonesia to collaborations and recordings with renowned flamenco artists in Spain, including Diego del Morao and Latin Grammy winner Antonio Rey.
