Few musical forms are as identified with a nation as tango is with Argentina, and no person did so much for the passionate music worldwide as Astor Piazzolla. The prolific composer advanced traditions, also incorporating jazz and classical music. Since his death in 1992, the Astor Piazzolla quintet officially represents his music and the sounds of Argentina.
