🇺🇸 4211 km tells the story of an Iranian family forced to flee their country after the 1979 revolution and settle in France. It focuses on Mina and Fereydoun, the parents, who originally believed their exile would be temporary, but end up living for decades away from their homeland.
The story is narrated by their daughter Yalda, born in France, who grows up between two cultures: her parents’ Iranian heritage, shaped by memory, language, and exile, and French society, where she tries to find her own identity. She constantly feels torn between these two worlds, never fully belonging to either.
The play explores themes of exile, identity, family heritage, displacement, and freedom, portraying the emotional and generational impact of migration.
